Compassion is a powerful resource educators use to support others, but what happens when we shift from helping others to owning others’ problems? During the session we will define empathetic distress and learn how to detect signs and symptoms, so you can prevent burnout and increase your resilience throughout the school year. In addition, we will explore self-compassion as a source of coping and resilience to improve our mental and physical wellbeing.
Teaching is a lot.. mentally, physically, and emotionally. This session is your chance to pause, breathe, and reset. We’ll start with a quick, real-talk conversation about stress, burnout, and what it actually looks like to take care of yourself during the school year. Then we’ll move through an accessible, feel-good yoga flow with simple postures, breathwork, and mindfulness techniques you can take straight back into your daily routine. This isn’t about being perfect or flexible, it’s about creating small, sustainable moments of calm so you can show up as your best self, both in and out of the classroom.
