Creative Recess is your permission slip to play. Teachers will use Canva to design inspirational and “cozy” classroom materials such as vision boards, virtual rooms, classroom posters, or calming digital spaces that support both student engagement and teacher well-being. Most of this session is dedicated to hands-on creation time. This session is ideal for educators looking to refresh their practice, reconnect with their creative side, and explore how visual design can shape learning environments.

In this hands-on session, educators will explore how artificial intelligence can spark creativity and deepen student learning through storytelling and visual design. Participants will learn how to use SchoolAI to help students generate ideas, develop storylines, and refine written content using effective prompts. Then, we will bring those stories to life using Canva and its powerful Canva Magic Media tools to create engaging illustrations and professional-looking picture books.

In a world of high-stakes testing and digital fatigue, sometimes the best way to move forward is to slow down. Welcome to the world of "Cozy Games"—digital and tabletop experiences designed to minimize stress and maximize connection. In this session, we’ll explore how board games can be used to teach problem-solving, empathy, and mindfulness. Come learn how to create a "cozy" corner in your curriculum that helps students (and teachers!) find their zen through play.
